10.4 DMX Cabling

 The DMX cable should meet EIA485 requirements. The characteristics

for this cable include low capacitance, twisted pair, shielded, and de-

signed for high speed data.

 Twisted pair Ethernet cabling referred to as Category 5 cable may be

a cabling option upon successful evaluation in the end use application.

 In the end use application, proper separation between control wiring

from the DMX interface and AC mains must be observed in accor-

dance with the applicable safety standards and/or NEC/CEC require-

ments.

 The maximum permissible cable length between DMX Controller

(transmitter) and last TRINITY PC is 1000 feet (300 meters). A DMX

splitter (preferably isolated) may be required to extend the cable

length.

9.0 DIMMING CONTROL OPTIONS

Trinity PC is available with either DMX or 0-10V analog control dimming op-

tions.

DMX control configurations follow the ESTA DMX-512A standard.

Specifications can be found in table 7 at the beginning of this manual.

Trinity PC DMX Installation information, typical wiring diagrams etc. are found

in section 10 of this manual.

Analog 0-10V control models follow both the IEC 60929 (AnnexE) and ESTA

E1.3-2001 standards. Specifications can be found in table 9 at the beginning of

this manual.

Trinity PC Analog installation information, typical wiring diagrams etc. may be

found in section 11 of this manual.

Trinity PC Multi-Zone Analog installation information may be found in section

12 of this manual.
